I believe it’s a part number 0065429417, and I checked and VDO was the
supplier. The OE sender is about $90 and the VDO can be found in the $50-$60
dollar range. There are others, but they’re far less expensive and reliable.

Absolutely. Known issue for cars if that vintage. Be sure to buy an OE or OEM
(VDO?) sender as a replacement, as aftermarket ones are known to be short-lived.
