Yes watch those rear subframe mounts. I’m repairing the left one on the 1990
300D 2.5 as we speak. I did the right in the fall. I’m able to do them with the
subframe in situ but that’s because they haven’t yet collapsed!

Looks just like my Generac. What the hell is "limp mode?" Looks like
significant weather exposure. From the description, this one starts but
then what? Winds down? Stops abruptly? My Generac has a pure mechanical
governor and maybe this one may have a governor (or LP solenoid) issue. All

Not sure, now that I re-read it. Probably a parsing error on my part.

Well, that's different then. That seems to be a pretty good
price for a reasonably-sized genny, if it works. I'd seriously
consider it, were it local. (Big Bertha is just too damned
thirsty.)

4kW is woefully undersized for most folks. I think 10-12kW is more
what is thought of as 'whole house'. Smaller than the usual rope-pull
genny. You could make it work, but you'd probably better be thinking
'tiny house', or maybe Green Acres. The usual electric hot water heater
(tank) is 4+kW

Evaporator issues. Needs a head gasket (oil leaks) and possibly rebuild the
head (brass, not bronze valve guides). The rear subframe mounts may need
rebuilt (rust) May need all new bushings or control arms too. It would have to
be thoroughly inspected.
Possible transmission issues too.
Stupid phone.

A few pics linked. Seller wasn't home when I stopped. Overall looks nice
enough, but some rust at front jack points. Interior is sort of a
chocolate brown (tobacco?). Dash and seats looked good through the
window.
How are these overall as far as reliability? Thoughts on price? Seems a

You can, but you can also buy a rebuilt faceplate from Becker Auto Sound that
has been completely reworked for around $125 last time I checked. Replacing the
lamps is tough but doable, it involved disassembling the faceplate and
desoldering the old “grain of wheat” bulbs and soldering the new

The ones in older cars I've seen are grain-of-wheat 12V incandescent bulbs.
Some might

It’s a Generac. That’s the first issue.
Second, it’s probably more expensive to repair than it was to replace. There’s
a reason why the previous owner elected to do this. If you think you’re over
the back of a chair with Mercedes and proprietary parts, you ain’t seen nothing
yet. And that’s if

Went to Texas to pickup a car on Friday. Planned to return home Saturday. A
deal was made on a 300SDL which I was going to get on the way back home. It was
about a 2 hour detour to get to it. Seller could not meet Saturday so I stopped
along the way overnight Saturday to meet him today.
This particular car I had a deal on. Getting ready to post about it.
