The first day of travel was uneventful. The morning started out by putting in
the new air filter, putting the new lightbulbs in the license plate lights, and
putting on the South Carolina temporary tag. No one had a cabin filter and I
didn’t particularly want to get one from the dealer so that’s

I have no interest in the car. But with something as nice as the car looks
otherwise, why put in garbage plastic replacement headlights? Find some OE
ones. I wonder if the rest of the accident repair was done with similar parts?

Not specifically for a convection combo.
My microwave is a Goldstar (I belive now the brand would be called LG) and is
about 30 years old. I don't know if current models will deliver the same
longevity but the old ones were evidently well-made.

Do you think it still produces as much power as it initially did?
We had an Amana for many years but my wife began to think it did not

Magic Chef for the “as close as you can get to original commercial-grade

We have one in the AZ house that could melt steel, I believe, it’s so powerful.

My wife whines that it's 'weak', but I followed the test instructions
I'd dug up, and it's still within spec. It's just that newer inverter-based
microwaves can be more powerful than this. From my notes:

That sounds like ours. Dang thing will boil a cup of water in seconds, I’ve
never had a microwave that powerful before. For that matter, if it’s used at
full power for any length of time, it can pop the breaker it’s on…

The old-school half-wave rectifier magnetron power supply can only draw
significant power from the line

Microwaves are non-ionizing radiation, so, no, you do not have to wear a
lead apron. Just keep your eyes out of the way!

However, high-voltage vacuum tubes can generate ionizing radiation,
and not necessarily on purpose, so that is something to beware of.
I don't know how likely magnetrons are

The solution was to move the operation center 100 meters away out from
underneath the antenna.

Another great day. 40ish degrees and drizzling mostly, and it cleared off in
time to be able to drive into the sun.
Several tanks of fuel has proven I’m getting 19.25 mpg driving the posted speed

That’s no right. When you get home you’ll have to check the fuel sender
Good luck with the drive!
