Seen a clean looking w109 squatting on the ground, presumably with a
faulty suspension
how much would it cost in parts to rectify the air bellows and the
suspension .
appriciate input if its practical to acquire it .
thanks

Zenith's are a little different from the other carbs, once you have the
service manual for them ( 108 service manual) they are easy to set up
correctly and perform perfectly.
I have no problems with my 230 220S and 280S after I got the grasp of the
jets and fuel flows from the carb diagram.
I did change the rear wheel bearings along with the front ones. The Rear
ones were not easy sailing.
Engine mountings are o.k .
The fan shroud is missing and I have not been able to source it as yet. On
the stands the noise is not there and that is the surprising bit, Its a
elusive grinding
Thanks Peter Absolutely agree that it is a bearing induced noise.
Complete new bearings with supplied races were installed and I felt quite
sure that the problem would be resolved .
As I asked earlier -could it be the bearing at the output end of the
diff. .connectiong to the drive
Thanks Peter . I had overlooked that section, I will check the universal
joint bearings .
I did put all 4 wheels on the stands and 'ran' the car ,oddly the noise is
not there when on the stands;on the road it starts around 30Kph and stays at
the same pitch and level .It does sound like the
I have not been able to isolate the grating kind of noise my 1970 280S has .
I have replaced the most suspected parts , drive shaft centre bearing and
the wheel bearings -all four wheels, still the noise continues .
Could it be the bearing at the dirrerential end near the drive shaft?
