Is this late enough to be rid of the timing chain issues Kaleb spoke of?
Seller told me it throws many codes, I can scan it when I look at it and that
the “bags have been replaced but I think the compressor need to be looked at”.
But….i
All the European brands make diesel models. They just didn't always sell them
in North America.

models. If you know – you know. This one should bring a lot mo

Some junkyard parts and a new windshield could have a cheap ride. Or just drive
it as-is and live with it.

Not that well equipped. No rear moonroof, no rear recliner seats, not 4matic.
Other available options absent too. Facelift model though, I can go either way
on that.
Lowish miles something of a plus, might be ok at ~$12k or so. The ask is
ridiculous.

It's worth that much but no one will pay it.

Some serious substance abuse there, too, based on the ask.

It must be someone in the depths of desperation to try and reassign a loan on a
car like this.

Show up with $5k of dead presidents in hand and I’ll bet they’ll talk.
Being a fuel injected model, you couldn’t ask for more. This is a pretty
bulletproof setup once running, but if there are injection system issues it’s
going to cost some $$ to get it running again.

I have a 2012 GL450 with 285kmi. Engine runs fine although there’s a code for
an intake flap actuator that doesn’t seem to affect anything. Torque converter
clutches are juddering but I ignore it mostly. Front end is pretty much shot.
Good tow beast. Paid $4k, might find one with fewer miles and
Air suspension can be a pain in the ass and will fail at the most inconvenient
time. But not really hard or complicated to work on. Early models will eat
timing chains and balance shafts. Beyond that not sure about later models. I
mainly deal with the diesels.
