OE vs aftermarket on the front guide rod bushings where they attach to body? I put the gold ones in on the teailing ends about seven years ago and the right one failed after maybe two years with it rumbling in the floorboard on rough pavement. Probably less than 20k miles on it before it went.

I replaced these on a 123 and a 126, no problems with them but the cars did not get a lot of miles after the RR, so can't share any experience in that regard. You might want to check all the suspension bits on that side, ball joints, control arms, tie rods. --R On 10/17/14 5:34 PM, Karl

A common problem with the W123/126 front end is worn out upper control arms. Only about 6 long, but if they are bad you get noise and crooked front tracking, hence extreme tire wear. Not that hard to replace. Peter ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To
