I must disagree. Mine did not feel underpowered, and it got decent enough
mileage. (For a 107, none of them get particularly good mileage!) Some of
mine were as bad as 14-ish mpg, but my Dad took it on some looong
No. Definitely not Okie Acres. Thinking of spending a little more for my show
car. So, maybe the 240D would be better. Also considering the 107. Only want
one old car!

Some 83s came out of the factory with dual row, early ones did not.
Best way to find out for sure is to look. upper prastic chain guides
break, leading to broken timing chain and bent valves, etc. They SHOULD
have been replaced by now. The ones Q got for me were alum with
composite face.
Are you trying to start Okie Acres Memphis?
You can’t assume the chain has been converted unless there are receipts or you
pull a valve cover. The 380 will be somewhat underpowered and will not get very
good mileage. You should be able to fit it but it will sit lower to the ground

That’s the R129 as well. To this day I don’t understand why the wife still
likes that car after having both of her hips replaced. It’s a complete PITA to
get in and out of, especially of you can’t open the door to the full travel.

The 107 is a short legged persons car. As we age, gravity begins to defeat
your ability to spring jauntily out of the driver seat. If you are an athletic
fellow in full midlife crisis mode, entering and exiting the SL is not a chore.
For an old fart out of shape guy, you want to stay in the

Take a quick spin in the 240D automatic first, then the 380SL will seem great!
They're not slow, in other words, they're just not as quick as a 560. And they
take regular gas. I loved mine.
Later 380's had double-row chains from the factory. 1983? You can look in the
oil filler hole to see, I think. (Not easy, but possible.)
I bought my 560SL from a self-proclaimed 'old fat man'. He'd always wanted
one of these, then found he wasn't comfortable in it. You'll just have to try
I never noticed an issue getting in and out of the 450SLC, but I'm only 6
ft. and was pushing 200 at the time. The only issues I can think of is
whether the ACC works (I hated messing with the vacuum pods under the
dash), the timing chain (but you have that figured out already), and the
fact that
Correction. It’s an 82.

Don is a fair bit younger than you and I if I remember correctly, so he
may not mind quite so much.
I concur with you. I don't like getting in and especially out of low cars.
I mostly drive the F150 where I have to climb in and out of it and I
prefer that to essentially rolling out onto my

What year? it matters.
I think sitting on the pavement, and getting up from a seated position
on the pavement will get old quick. there is very little space to get
long legs in and out behind the door hinge area. #1 Daughter has had
one for years. I am not near as tall as you, and I
I'm 6'4" 185 or so and drove my buddy's 450SL and found it a bit tight,
but I fit. Was not real comfortable on a long drive. My 129 SL600 is
also pretty tight but I fit. I am guessing you would be OK but might
not want to go on a long trip.

I found a triple black 380SL with 123K miles. It has soft top and hard top.
Seller claims "everything works as it should." Also says it is a one owner car
"with all paperwork and receipts." So, assuming this is all true, I think it
seems save to say the timing chain has been changed to the
