Well I did it. Further pushing and pulling on the pumpkin yielded no
new results. Tried to undo the big nut on the driveshaft, but it
wouldn't budge. Had no trouble getting it off a few years ago; must
have done a good job reinstalling it. So I unhooked the driveshaft at

Just loosen the rear stud nuts until they are almost off.
Then if you have a floor jack use it to jack up the diff. to
the subframe. Don't take off the nuts for the front studs while
doing this. It's one Big PITA to get them all stabbed into the subframe
again.
