Hi, All.
When bought this car it had a giant oil leak from the front timing cover,
broken in 3 places from (I guess) a broken chain, also pan had chip out of it.
Ran well and did not smoke. Found that the engine had been replaced with one
from an '85 with manual trans.

Hmmm. If it were a V8 I would say you had the rear towers swapped (but
that give you low oil pressure).
Sounds as if the oil passage in the head is blocked somehow, and while
you have great oil pressure, no flow to the cam.
Check with Rusty re: head gasket matchup, who knows, there may
