IIRC, a 2.2 5-speed manual in tip-top condition should turn in around 42MPG, best-case conditions. Our 2.5 does considerably worse. There are some fuel leaks, and I believe the timing is not optimal. It's also got the wrong rear end ratio. I think we've been getting something like 35MPG,
