The Sprint Classic is a summer tire, not to be used below about 40 degrees F.

Ah, well I guess the point is that there are many possible Vredestein
options, but the one I assumed you meant, for the 14" rims being discussed,
was the Sprint Classic.

Alas, Michelin no longer makes the Defender in relevant 14" sizes.
I have always used Michelins and generally had excellent experience with them
EXCEPT the last set, which instead of being made in Canada were made in Mexico.
The car simply didn't track straight with them. Had the alignment done
This link should show a whole list of 195/70R14 tars on the Bozos River,
Hankook is in there as well as Kumho Solus TA11 All-Season Tire -
195/70R14 91Tfor $74 which are pretty decent tires. Of course you would
have to get them mounted etc maybe another $15 per.

This surprises me, my 240Ds were both excellent in the snow even with just
cheap tire store tires.
Maybe I'm just an excellent driver ;)

I used to put 185 snow tires on my 240D, I think narrower tires are great for
snowtires.
For summer tires I'd go 195...

The W116 currently has General Altimax tires. Cannot recommend.
Not sure offhand what are on the W123 without checking.

In my experience with a W123 you need somewhat "sticky" tires. If you buy the
ones on sale at the local tire chain with the good mileage warranty, you will
be spinning your tires in the rain and going nowhere in the snow.
If you have neither rain nor snow, I guess you are OK with pretty much any

Time to put a set of tires on one of my 300D cars. I've located a local
source that can supply Hancock Optimo H724 tires in 185x75xR14.
Question:
Is the 185 x 75 tire an OK size for the 300D?
Any experience with Hancock?
Thanks in advance.
