It is more than a little slop at this point so that is what I want to resolve.
I know they have a bit of play but this one is getting a little concerning

IIRC they need to have a little slop in the steering. If you tighten
the steering box up too much it just wears faster.

I have not driven this car for awhile so took it out this evening for a little
spin. I do like driving me a 126. The steering box is a little loose though, I
need to tighten it up a bit. I’ve seen some vids and such on that and know it

I would really like that one - notwithstanding the fact that I have more

What do people think of this? I few exterior scuffs but overall quite

around the $4k mark and I am generally on the mark. Anyone else? The
commentary is interesting with one guy expressing preference for the 560.

I have an '82 300SD with 304k miles. At 75 mph, I average 27 mpg. 25
in town. 23.5 with two boats on the roof rack, heading into a stiff
westerly at 75. I am no feather-foot, either.
The previous owner reported getting as high as 32 during the 55 mph
speed limit days.
27 is bang on, no boas

I always use at least two sets of cables if they are not very heavy duty.
That seems to work.

Mitch is correct. The cheapo jumper cables won't cut it with a diesel.
Get some good cables.

It's very tough to jump start a diesel because they use a LOT of juice.
You're better off putting a better battery in it to start the car.
