I guess. It would seem to me that the bearing surfaces in a car have 2 through hardened surfaces in contact and they would be very difficult to damage. The Hoop around the drum on a mixer mus not be heat treated. If it were, it would crack when they welded it on. I THINK. Pete Mitch Hal
