Interesting that you mention those, Mitch, as I have a co-worker that owned a
Sky hardtop coupe, very rare. I’ve looked at these before, and as Grant
suggested with the R170s, I can’t comfortably fit in one.
And they are not about to hit bottom, in fact, their values are still quite

When you're done improving it, stick a SLS badge and a six digit price
tag on it.

The R170 was for those who wanted something smaller than those.

It is really too bad Mercedes made it a car for midgets instead of life
size folks 6 ft and up.
Expand the wheelbase another 20 inches and widen the body to keep
proportional aspect proper.
Widening and adding length would make room for a nice V8 and competitive
with Porsche and Corvette, and other
They’re not bad cars, but the front seal on the supercharger is a weak point
and most likely will need to be changed. They have other minor issues as well,
but nothing I would consider a dealbreaker.

I looked at one here a coupla years ago, thought someone on the list
might be interested. It was a nice enough car and reasonably priced but
for 6'4" me it was a little tight working the clutch

They’re around, but very rare. These things are best left alone. A number of
issues with the engines and supercharger when they get up in miles. Go for an
SLK320 and get a much more reliable and easier to work on chassis.
