I suspect
this is a casualty of the gasohol we are forced to use.
Or the crappy gasoline, or dirt, or water because ethanol blend was no used.
Really people, before ethanol was regularly blended into gasoline,
people had to pour alcohol into the gasoline to disperse water in the
gas tank.

I went up to the welding shop a coupla years ago and there was this
cone-shaped stainless steel thing about 16 diameter with a pipe fitting
welded into the top tip of the cone. I asked the welder who brought
