Donald,
The fuel filter is probably under the rear of the car, by the right
rear tire, behind a plastic panel. At least that's wher
the oil filter on a 103 is just a spin on deal at the back of the engine.

Say WHAT? I hope you're thinking of the 115 diesels, on a 123 the oil filter
I noticed there is a nice looking 90 or 91 300SE in the autotrader
locally for 5k or so. Anyways, the fuel filter is more of a hassle than
the diesels, its righ next the the right rear tire, under the car. You
have to loosen the bracket, remove the lines and pull it out. Will also
