spraying. It was also impregnated in heavy paper for
wrapping parts to prevent corrosion.

add to the crankcase - it's used by the aviation
industry for pickling engines, and I have used it

I read in the manual that Mercedes use and wax based oil for rust protection
in the engine bay. I see traces of it in mine. I've done such a good just
of cleaning the engine or grease and crud, I want to protect it with
something (outside) as the car is subjected very salty roads in
Cosmoline.

You can probably find this or something similar at an
industrial engine supply house, or possibly a truck
supply place that would deal with industrial engines
like pumps or compressors.
Cosmoline is pretty heavy duty
Thanks again, something to keep in mind for when the 911 goes away. You
seem to know a lot about long term storage. Just curious, do they ever put
any of those planes out in the Arizona desert back into service, or are they
stored more to harvest parts from?

If you're talking about AMARG, the Aerospace
Maintenance and Regeneration Group at Davis Monthan
AFB in Arizona.
What a wonderful place to wander around in, if you
ever get the opportunity.
For the most part, the only parts left to the elements
are the fuselage and major metal parts, as they
