Constant ticking usually means trouble but nothing to lose sleep over, a
bit of tick on start up is also nothing to to worry about.

I think it is somewhat dependent on what oil has been used
prior. Havoline and valvoline tend to keep the insides clean. Some
other oils build up soap-like sludge on non-wear surfaces. If you
take off the oil filler cap and see crud built up on the camshaft,
then Change the filter after 1 or

Contrary to Marshall's wisdom. He often stated that the filter
capacity was HUGE as compared to the crud that would go in it.
Though he wasn't keen on my current policy of only changing
the filter every other time.

Mostly the latter, I think. Though the engine _is_ probably
happier and better protected.

ar starts
easy, uses less oil than when I got it and runs fine... It takes time to clean
out an engine.

Had two filters on hand from Rusty. Just finished changing the oil in wifeys
87 190D. Yay me. How pleasing it is to change oil on these diesels compared
