On the E300, you could get a radiator hose clamp from FLAPS and pinch off The
hose, or get a 3/4 ball valve to install in line and shut off the hot water.

Tomorrow I need to bypass the duovalve or monovalve or whatever the $500E300
has so I can get some cold air out of the thing. It will blow cold then goes
hot. Seems like that thing might be broke.

While waiting for parts for the evapectomy on The White Whale, I decided to
tackle the compressor re-seal on the '95 E300. Getting it off the car was
pretty easy, no drama. Took it apart twice - forgot to re-install the clip
ring holding the shaft seal in place.
Realized I didn't know the torque
Well it's supposedly fixed. They sent somebody out. It had some wires that were
shorting out so it was not reading the thermostat or something. I am not sure
what wires as I was not there.

Welded contacts are not all that rare, if it's built with the

Odd. Mine doesn't go around the barrel, it goes down inside

Seems like I recall reading that mineral spirits are good.
We used to use liquid freon to boil the lines clean - can't do that
anymore. I'm sure that the industry has found a substitute.
