Seems like the weak link in the CVT would be the cones and belts if that's
what they're still using. Depending on how accessible they are, the CVT
might be easier and cheaper to fix than the DSG for a DIYer.

the tranny fluid (whatever it is) is replaced. I've read that the clutch
plates typically need to be replaced between 70k and 100k miles. I expect
