The ABS light on my wife's 2001 Ford Expedition is on. I am hoping that the
problem is just a wheel speed sensor or something cheap. Anyone have any
experience with these. I guess I will have to go to a place where they can
check the codes and charge me an arm and a leg. Damn!

Go to the auto parts store, they usually have the code readers for
loan, you can just check it right in the parking lot. I went to one
place, they wanted $30, so went to the auto parts, they weren't busy so
the guy came out with me and it took about 2 minutes and I cleared the
