The only 4 wheel BMW I ever wanted was a Screaming, fuel injected
2002 tii to go with my 71 R75/5 back in 72/73 or so. A little alter
ego for my sedate 190Dc or 200D. But the R75/5 was a more economical
and reliable alter ego.

This is true of most modern cars. Quite a PITA.

I drove a rental '08 Malibu in Feb. - Hated the pillars - big blind
spots on both sides of the windshield. Utterly without character.
Should have taken the extra couple of days and driven the 124 instead
of flying.

I see them around now and again, in decent shape here in occupied
Aztlan, and even some in restored condition. There was one sitting in
an alley driveway carport of a house behind the house of some people I
knew, the woman's son had parked it there, and there it sat for a few
years. Rims got
I always dreamed about having 2002 -- a friend had one in college,
and I loved it. Sadly, they have all, so far as I can tell, rusted
away now. I saw one a few years back, nice paint but you could see
the rear axles sitting strange because the spring towers were rusted
off

I've not driven a modern bunker with gun slits for windows. I still
haven't gotten used to 1990's high butt designs that don't allow me to
see the earth over the deck lid while backing up. Pre-1996 Ta

Would that not be more conventionally represented as 6' 2"?
I like the big greenhouse on older cars. Falcon, Pacer, etc.
Very nice visibility.

I will admit to being spoiled. I drove for a very long time in
Mercedes Benz 110 and 111 models, and the visibility in those cars in
all conditions is still far superior to any car produced in the last
20 years. I am a scanner when I drive. It comes from years of
motorcycle riding to stay al
We're all different I guess. I rented an HHR for a weekend. I bought one, no
sunroof as I am 5' 14" tall. Lack of head room was my only issue.
After 25Kmi it has been very good with the exception of front rotors. I'll
swap them out this spring.
Mine is 2.4L engine with auto. Moves good, 25
I had one of those coffins as a rental. IMHO it is one of the worst
POS models out of Detriot in 20 years or so. Very limited
visibility, with the mirror obstructing your view. I was continually
doing the goose-neck down thing to be able to see under the
mirror. I am not that tall at 5'9"
The HHR is a very solid little car. The basic Ecotec 2.2L 4 banger delivers
140hp compared to the optional 2.4L 172hp model. My parents' '06 HHR LT2
seems to be built well. It doesn't have quite the rear seat leg room that
their '01 PT Cruiser had, but the support and firmness of the rear sea
I used to tow a 16' sailboat behind the MGA (Olds V8) - felt more like
a semi-trailer rig.

Took a new HHR out for a test drive on Saturday morning. I like the cute retro
style - like a '49 Suburban. Lots of
head room in the back seat and quite a bit of space behind it for a little
vehicle. Not a whole lot of pep given
the little 4 cylinder but options are available. I took the most bas
