MAN did AMC mess up the Javelin when they made that awfull bubble fender
model!!! I LOVED my 70...That was a nice body style but just like all NY
cars was eaten away by the salt and became too dangerous to drive so I sold
it to a guy doing a resto on one who needed trim pieces. That's OK I
I think they ended the Javelin production in '73 or '74, but it did get ugly
after the early 70's model year. The 69 had the best body style in my opinion,
nice lines to the fenders and those factory Crager SST wheels looked real sharp

Could be, if I'm not mistaken the 401 was just a punched out 390
