I had the wifi deal, and even when it worked for me it was not nearly as good
as what I have now.

That's exactly why I'm looking at it - the long distance WiFi is not
working well, and the only other option out here is satellite.

It's junk. 1.5 mb connection max usually runs way under that. Exede I have
rated at 12 almost always runs at least 15-18.

Forget hughesnet. The exede has a 49 setup special going on right now instead
of the normal 149 I paid.

The old system yes but this new system certainly not. As far as latency goes,
would not work for gaming but I don't do that, I do not really notice much of a
delay at all

I looked into it, and I think satellite internet is basically a last
resort for people who's only other choice is dial-up or some other
severely limited service. The latency is a killer for anything
interactive, and the bandwith limits are pretty low in this day of
streaming media. Also the two y
Yes very happy. Speed has remained pretty consistent and we have had a little
rain and I did not loose service. I am sure it would go down in a heavy ran
though. Also I have the 15gb plan and I ran right up to that by the end of the
month.

OK - you've had this service for a month now. Are you still happy with them?

My WiFi ISP dropped the connection on my VPN tunnel at least 15 times today
while I was trying to telecommute. I'm seriously in need of a new ISP, and
Kaleb's satellite sounds like the DEAL. HughesNet left junk mail in the box
today, but they want $110/mo. for a fraction of the speed and bytes.
An
Better cache on your device. Hulu goes poop on me all the time. I have much
better luck with pirate video sites that do cache the file and give higher
quality video. then they clunk and you have to go brew a cup of tea before you
bother to fire them up again to see your show.

It's still data transfer, the ISP doesn't care if you are saving it or
not. It would count against the limit.

Do you use Netflix? How does that work on sat service? I wonder how
quickly that would eat up the 7.5 GB monthly transfer limit.
If I could dump Comcast entirely for their basic plan it would save me
about $50 a month.

Supposedly the new sat has the capacity for much much greater speed that but
they set it at that to make sure everyone got good speed. The old wildblue sat
was only up to 1.5 but this us a completely new system.
