A phono port is _required_, not just for the necessary
extra amplification, but also the phono EQ that is required.

This does not have a phono port I just ran it through an empty TV port, also
tried DVD port that is not used. Is there some sort of external preamp I would
have to get or am I going to need a different receiver that has a phono port.
My older receivers had phono port but not this one
