I tried it one time to pull water out of a 5gallon jerry can.? It did not
work.? Elevating the can did not help.?
It seems like it should work.? I hope we hear from someone who had success.

In other words, he pump is non-priming.

And use a can with a bottom outlet, don't just stick a siphon hose in
from the top.

I am pretty sure my 6.5 HP pressure washer requires
some input pressure on the supply side - I don't think
it's intended to be able to "suck" from a water supply
- the pump is only intended to boost pressure to a
certain level.

Anyone know if its required to have pressure on the intake or if I can
just run a hose to some 55gal rain barrels I have? The rain barrels are
great, fill up in one decent rain on avg, highly recommend
Great Idea, I doubt if that pump would self prime. Put the barrels up about 3
feet and they would gravity feed enough, pressure washing does not use too much
water.

Anyone know if its required to have pressure on the intake or if I can
just run a hose to some 55gal rain barrels I have? The rain barrels are
great, fill up in one decent rain on avg, highly recommended for those
of us in drought country.
