Mine is working OK, but since capacitors age and eventually fail, I want to be
proactive and see if I can source replacements. I’m also wondering if it would
work better with newer caps in it - I don’t have a point of reference, but
figured I could swap them in to see if they made a

OK. Wasn’t sure. All the metal can caps I’ve worked with in the past were
electrolytics, but then again, it didn’t occur to me that there are no polarity
markings, either….
Thanks again!

The capacitor in there is not an electrolytic. Yes, a ceramic disk
capacitor
Craig,
Is a ceramic disc capacitor an appropriate substitution for he metal can
(electrolytic?) cap that’s in there now?

Thanks, Craig.
It’s a weird application. It’s a capacitor that’s used to run the pulse pump
on my 1960s Italian Omre brand espresso machine. These machines used either
rotary pumps or pulse pumps. Mine has a pulse pump and I’m almost sure the way
this capacitor is wired into the pump that

I know there are a number of electronics folks here. Would one of you mind
taking a look at this dual section capacitor and giving me your opinion on the
value(s) and a possible source?
