Max and I went to the knacker Saturday to get some 211 parts. I was
going to get a mirror off a car (black, matches the $400E500) and it
appeared to have torx screws holding it on. So I got torx drivers and
they wouldn't fit. I look and the screws have these little nibs in the

I am not sure about how the blasting with water might affect the metal,
but suspect it would be about the same ass basic sandblasting. It will
require that you use something to etch the surface of the metal. If you
don't the paint will not stick properly. I don't recall a brand name but

I have always been told that sandblasting sheet metal will invariably warp it,
requiring rework and more prep for painting. Don't know if that applies to the
liquid sandblasting as I guess that would tend to keep the metal cool. And the
sand gets everywhere and can be hard to remove from crevice
Well I just swapped the failed Norton wire wheel at Lowe’s for a DEWALT which I
had better service from. I hope that will get me through the trailer cleanup.
If not I’ll have to get one of those water sand blasters and give that a try.

That does sound like "the bees knees" for paint removal!

That one is just like what I bought years ago. Amazing, it's about the same
price. Mine has replaceable ceramic tips also. I rigged up a pressure pot
that feeds sand from the bottom instead of sucking it out of a bucket. That
improved the sand supply at the nozzle and resulted in more stripping

Amazon have them for cheap$27-35 (more expensive have replaceable
nozzles which is probably worthwhile), might be worth picking one up to
give it a go

Some years ago, I bought an attachment for one of my pressure washers that
hooks to a sandblaster pot and uses the water pressure to suck sand into
the high pressure spray stream. Unlike having to rely on an air compressor
for air sandblast and all the dust and frustration that comes with that.

I have safety glasses on, unfortunately most of the shed bits seem to end up in

Unfortunately most grinder disks/cutting wheels/wire brushes are total crap.
I've been using Dewalt brand flappy sandpaper disks and they are by far the
best. I got a bunch on sale at Tractor Supply, now I wish I'd bought them all.
I tried to get more and HD has them for like $9 each. I think I
