If the flex disk have never been done, or are showing cracking, better do them sooner than later. You don't want one of those coming apart underway. In my experience the oil cooler hoses give plenty of warning and do not just suddenly burst. That is based on my W123 though. Allan On Mon, Nov

I remember doing the front subframe mounts on a W114. Not the easiest job, but the results were well worth it each time. Amazing how much quieter the car is afterwards. -D > On Nov 8, 2021, at 6:41 PM, Randy Bennell via Mercedes > wrote: > > I don't have any real experience with newer

Same process for doing the oil in the SL. Makes me happy and less pleased when I did it. Reminded me of Gump (115) for happy memories, but still got the slimy arm clay I have no pronouns please do not refer to me. > On Nov 8, 2021, at 12:43 PM, Kaleb Striplin via Mercedes > wrote: > >

Your experience with the W115 mirrors mine - I had three of them over the years. I always put the front end up on stands as high as I could get it to make it easier to deal with the filter housing. I missed removing the old o-ring once, put a new one on the housing - and found out that it doesn't

Yes, I believe you. When you loosen off the bolt holding the filter housing on, oil comes out all over it, even if the sump has already been drained. I do think that it would be easier to re-install the filter housing if I could stand under it and push it up into the hole. I really cannot see

Yes, I try to change it late in the fall since I don't drive it during the winter. For years I put it away on Halloween because my insurance ran out then. I would switch it to storage insurance for the winter and put full insurance back on in the spring once the roads were cleaned of winter

Yesterday afternoon I decided I should change the oil on the car before I store it for the winter. We are supposed to start getting more seasonal temperatures by the end of the week which means it will be fairly cool here. This past weekend was nice and today is nice with a current temperature
