FWIW, when I last ordered front pads for my '79 300SD (WDB11612012010864) with Bendix calipers, Tom Hanson of the Classic Centre gave me 001-420-78-20 ($42 before discount) as the correct number, and they did fit (tight!). D. On Sun, Oct 1, 2023, Allan and Craig wrote: > > On Sat, 30 Sep 2023

Believe it or not, the spindle nut covers for the wiper arms are optional. I can get you a part number, they’re still available for a couple of bucks apiece. -D > On Sep 30, 2023, at 8:05 PM, Allan Streib wrote: > > Changed oil in the E500 today. Used the HF oil sucker. Sure wish I'd bought

I had the same problem with my '79 300SD when I replaced the front calipers. I ended up filing part of the caliper body for clearance. I actually now don't remember if the pads didn't fit, or maybe it was the caliper that didn't quite fit the bracket without bumping into something. I think

I actually won't be doing the belt idler tomorrow, because the part that's actually noisy is the belt tensioner and I mistakenly ordered the idler pulley. Grumble. The belt itself looks OK but thinking since I need to make another order anyway, maybe just replace it and throw the old one in

Those spindle nut covers snap on don’t always hold well. A new one from a stealer is likely pretty cheap --FT Sent from iFōn > On Sep 30, 2023, at 8:07 PM, Allan Streib via Mercedes > wrote: > > Changed oil in the E500 today. Used the HF oil sucker. Sure wish I'd bought > one of those a

Changed oil in the E500 today. Used the HF oil sucker. Sure wish I'd bought one of those a long time ago. I presume the filters are packaged for multiple applications and it's normal to have an extra O-ring in the package. Also installed new wiper blades. Couldn't figure out the passenger side
