When I change the main fuel filter in my W123 300TD turbodiesel wagon, I
fill the canister (containing the new filter) with ATF before reattaching.
Supposed to work wonders.

properly. It is now secure and having been shy a quart of oil at one point, I
had to toss in a quart of ATF so I could get home. This seems to
