rethinking testing it. Sure, if you soak a rubber
o-ring in 100% acetone overnight, it will swell, but
that is totally different than a solution of 1/15 of
one percent acetone and 99 14/15% diesel.

There was a thread on Fatwallet that had a guy with a semi new rental and he
applied a few oz of acetone. MPG went down. Not very scientific but it was
speculated that on older vehicles the acetone may be cleaning passages and
that's how the MPG improves.

If you look at the chart on the site originally

DECREASE MPG. THe amount needed is about 1/15 of 1% -
VERY little.

Howdy -
If this story were true wouldn;t the gas/fuel companies put a bit of
Acetone
in for us? Something that would bump mileage by 10% or so would seem to

Uhh, wouldn't they want to surpress this with all the power available to them?

Did he change his driving habits at all? I've seen 10-15% changes in
mileage in some cars just from driving slower. If someone is testing a
new fuel economy additive it's likely they'll drive more carefully for a
while

I am told that a major life assurance company will refuse to insure anyone
who has worked in a nail salon. Breathing in acetone makes you uninsurable!

Ask your doctor for Viagra today*!

Mitch.
