Exactly! You have to specify a matched set at FLAPS, although most of the jockeys have no idea what a matched set is. Your friendly local tractor or industrial engine dealer (or bearing/industrial supply) would be a better choice if you don't want to give the business to Rusty.. We used to

Last time I replaced the dual belts they were the same. Where did you get your belts? Sounds like maybe a manufacturing defect... wouldn't take more than a small difference in overall length to introduce 3/4" of deflection in one of the belts. Belts should not stretch much. They probably do to

I recently installed new fan/drive belts on my '85 300TD & '84 300D and, other than the belt for the AC compressor being rather difficult to get on the pulleys, I noticed somewhat of an oddity with the two belts which go to the alternator and H2O pump in that they were slightly different length
