Since the day I first bought our 87 190D the top radiator hose has never
been anything but soft - that is at least at any time that I have checked
it.

Yea, I think the fans is what caused it to run hot and maybe puke some
of the fluid quicker than usual, but its still been loosing coolant for
a while. It will get down to where it turns on the light probably every
2 weeks, maybe 3. I filled it up yesterday to the fill line and wife
drove car
compression gas sniffer, that is interesting, never thought about buying
one of those before
