Hmmm I wonder what he would say about the 606 turbos. They have no
adjustment; everything is computer controlled... Especially the egr
and wastegate. Apparently, some serious electronics skullduggery is
required to defeat the egr without having the computer disable
enrichment/boost.

Well, a 94-97 OM606 has more HP than a 617.952, but I believe the 617 has more
torque down low. Probably about a wash overall. If your wagon was a 1987, then a
1995 would be a slight step down.
