Delaminating tires do even more damage to camping trailers and motorhomes.

I had a tire come apart on me on the truck. I went back and picked up most
of the pieces I could find, as a courtesy. The spare was _very_ important
that day.

everone in the construction trades seems to think it is their duty to
spread drywall screws and all manner of iron on the roadways. I have
something in one of my new $90 nokias now.

Back in the day, flat tires were a common and normal part of driving. I recall
several times changing tires in the pouring rain, at night of course. Tires
are so much better now! Or maybe I can just afford better ones now. Except in
construction zones, I haven't had a flat in decades/

contents have been 'Merkanized and updated.

The touareg had the collapsible spare and an air pump. Seemed like a good
compromise.
Land Rovers apparently get better mileage with the spare on the hood. So
perhaps that is a model to follow in this weight-and/or-fuel-saving age.

How often have you tried to help someone who had a spare with very little air
in it? Do you carry a pump?

How often have you used your insurance policy?
I run out of fingers and toes if I try to count the number of
people I have helped on the side of the road with a flat tire.
Most had spares. 30 minute max

I run out of fingers and toes if I try to count the number of
people I have helped on the side of the road with a flat tire.

I have actually used my spares on many many occasions. The only time I needed
AAA, was when I found that I did not have the proper lug wrench in the car.
Somehow a 19mm got into the roll.
I do see a few pristine spares living in the trunk at PnP every so often. It
is rare enough, that I keep
I'll keep my 123 and 124 dissels. Thanks anyway.
BTW, the 2 hyundi models listed are complete $ hit hole "cars."

It seems like the cell phone has replaced the spare tire like the quik lube has
replaced the drain pan.
I just thought it odd that KIA, Hyundai, and Mercedes seemed to have eliminated
the spares from pretty much their entire line-ups.

I think I've used the spare maybe 4 or 5 times in 25 years of driving. In most
of those cases a small electric pump would have done the job. In cases where I
was driving a pickup a pump would have been less labor.
At least 2 of the cases I've put on a spare it was to go save Angie ;)

AAA fully endorses the move as do it's new members who now must carry a
current AAA card
