Hi everybody,
I know I haven't posted in a while. I've been really busy lately and I
haven't been keeping up. For all of you who like looking at pictures I just
finished putting a bunch of photos of my collection on my website. I finally
got them scanned. They are at:

I am amazed that some people dare collecting this material!
Army people say its radioactivity should have come now to acceptable
level, but first who is able to trust 100% such quote (from people who
experimented injection of plutonium into humans without telling them) and
second even if on

Hi Pierre,
Better men than I, as the saying goes, have told me 2 different
things regarding the radioactivity of Trinitite:
1) That its radioactive level is so low as to be completely irrelivant
that you could tape it to the inside of your jock strap and wear
it daily with ZERO impact
I don't own any Trinite, but if I did, I would probably store it in a lead
lined bag...such as those sold at photo stores to protect film from airport
x-ray machines.

I'm much too concerned with heating up my irradiated hamburger in my
microwave while talking on my cell phone, and drinking directly from the
faucet. Honestly, there must be a thousand more dangerous things that we do
everyday. I might have them swept with a Geiger counter, or place them on
Hello All, My trinite will just barely moves my gigacounterbarely. The uranium balls I have (and will soon be selling) move it more. My furniture does not movethe gigacounter(nor does any of meteorites or anything else I could find in my house. My father was a radition specialist in the

Hello Everybody, I just wanted to see if some of you have photos of
Trinite, Ive never seen it¡¡¡, I guess once I heard from it, but not too
much, is Trinite the By-product of a nuclear explotion?...so it might be
like tektites or what???. Can somebody give some information about it pls??
Alpha particles aren't rays they are helum nucleii and are stopped by paper skin etc
etc etc
The only radioactive danger from trinitie is the out chance of a plutonium
particle--that is a legitimate but REMOTE concern. so scan it if you have a chance.
BTW Gieger Counters won't detect alpha
Thanks Dave and Edward for the links¡¡¡, now I know how Trinite looks
like...it has many bubbles, like bomb clasts from Volcanoes...I have some
bombs from a big volcanoe in mexico that has lost of bubbles...thanks a lot
friends got to go¡¡¡
Guess that teaches me not to spell check:-) Gigacounters can be bought on eBay of course. Do not buy one of the cheap ones. Look to spend $100-$300.00. They have old military surplus...which I bought one just to try and it has to be recalibrated again and I just did a week ago. So the next
Where can I buy one of these gigacounters ? I've been out of
college so long I didn't know such a thing existed. I always
thought the device used to detect ionizing radiation was a Geiger
counter, or more correctly called, a Geiger Muller counter.
When and where will you be selling your uranium
Hey Cottingham! Can you smoke trinitite?

Mark, minor corrections:
The Geiger counters at OSU detect alphas quite nicely, actually. One
wouldn't be able to do any student physics labs involving radioactivity if
_gamma_radiation_ was all you could use. :]
