Alpha particles aren't rays they are helum nucleii and are stopped by paper skin etc etc etc The only radioactive danger from trinitie is the out chance of a plutonium particle--that is a legitimate but REMOTE concern. so scan it if you have a chance. BTW Gieger Counters won't detect alpha
