Dear List members
I am just dropping a line to everyone on the list to announce with regret that
this message will be my last contribution to the list.
I would sincerely like to thank everyone who has contacted me through the list,
or has replied to a message I have sent; whether good or bad. T
Dear List
An interesting article, I will access the original on the Science Advances
website to get the whole story. However, I found the EarthSky piece full of
some very fundamental errors!

Dear Ron and Everyone on the List
Some quite spectacular images were shown on the news here. As usual the
broadcasters never seem to get the facts quite right. From what I saw on TV, it
seemed to be a meteor or possibly a piece of space junk but what I am not sure
about from all that has been s
Dear MikeG and Listoids
Just returned from Tucson and I would like to thank everyone I met or bumped
into while there. The weather, however, was just a wee bit too hot for me (and
I caught the Tucson lurgy which really p***ed me off).
I have to say I agree with a lot of what you say regarding
Dear List members
I would be very wary of the figures quoted here. As someone on the list has
already mentioned, the shows at Changsha (now gone forever), Chenzhou and
elsewhere are largely attended by locals and students bussed in by the Chinese
government to artificially boost numbers. A numb
Dear Tommy and All
I will be interested to see the reaction of listees to this article. A few
years ago I posted a small "flyer" for the work of an artist who had taken a
piece of Campo, made a mould of it, melted the meteorite then cast it in the
mould she had made earlier and put it on displa

I agree with Mike on this. My day job is curator of minerals and this doesn't
look like a natural nugget to me.

I agree with you to a very large extent. The number of "fakes" and
"meteorwrongs" appearing online, and through public enquiries to the museum,
does seem to be increasing. In the last couple of weeks I have seen, or dealt
with about half a dozen of them. Whether or not this can be blamed
Hello Friends and Colleagues
Well, what can I say? I'll take a dozen please! Laughed so much I fell off my
chair.
Have a great weekend

Dear Anne
Thank you for the information. I will not be able to come this year due to
other commitments, but I am intending to come in 2016, where I hope to speak,
if it can be arranged, about a forthcoming exhibition I am developing to
celebrate the Centenary of the Strathmore Meteorite fall.
Pete Pete (so good they named him twice)
Who should contact you? I do know who John Kashuba is but what is the problem?
Hope he is OK?

Dear All
Thank you again for all the replies and for the generally well written and
argued cases you put to back up your point-of-view. I was a pleasure to be part
of this debate and encouraging to see how many people have been touched by this
topic - enough to put finger to keyboard and say wh

Thanks for this. I have seen this particular cartoon, and some similar ones,
before. It doesn't quite respond to what I said below, dealing as it does with
the notion of "art" as commodity. It is a kind of short, cartoon version of the
story of "The Emperor's New Clothes". It does however
Dear Lads and Lassies
Thank you to those who replied to the e-mail I sent about the "meteorite"
sculpture by Katie Paterson which has been sent into space. To be honest I
didn't expect a positive response and that is exactly what I got. I attended a
talk by Katie last Saturday (2nd August) and
Dear Listoids
I make no claim to be an expert on contemporary art/artists, nevertheless I
have worked with a number of artists over the last few years in my role as a
mineral curator for the National Museums and this has allowed me to get a
glimpse of the way different artists devise, plan and

Bon anniversaire !
Although we haven't known each other for that long, I feel you are one of my
oldest and most trusted friends. We haven't had the chance to speak for a
while, but I will be sure to look you up in Tucson in 2015.
Many happy returns

Hello Karen
Hope I am not too late. I was away on fieldwork in Devon and Cornwall. There
are a number of options for getting to Ensisheim from Mulhouse. Firstly there
is a local bus service from the station in Mulhouse to Ensishem. But it is very
infrequent and only runs during the day, nothing
Hello Listees (Repost)
2017 marks the Centenary of the Strathmore meteorite fall; Scotland's biggest.
To commemorate this occasion, I am at the planning stage of an exhibition which
will take place in the National Museums Scotland during that year. Outline
permission had already been given and
Good Morning Pierre-Marie
This is sad news indeed, and very frustrating since it is due to a legal
impediment and not a comment on the strength and quality of the research. Some
of my colleagues have suggested self-publishing which is a good idea, but if
you are prevented by your contract then
