I was just informed that Smoky passed away a couple of weeks ago. I am
really sorry to hear this thinking that we would one day talk again or go on
a treasure hunt. It demonstrates that you can not count on good people
being around forever so you should appreciate them while they are still

Dear List Members,
Team LunarRock solved the mystery of the "Curious Iron Rocks" that miners
were finding for years in Pershing County, Nevada.
Here is how the mystery began:
We were told by the locals that the best place to eat in Lovelock, Nevada
was at a Shell gas station, not the C
Team Meteorite:
I found these compelling explanatory videos regarding aspects of
Curiosity's scientific and power functions while on Mars and believe
that many members will enjoy learning about these.

Hey all,
This is not a is this a meteorite? question
I've been going through cleaning out some boxes of NWA XXX meteorites
and I found some meteorites I forgot I had. All these stones are very
highly magenetic and snap hard to a neo mag.

Hi Folks!
Someone asked me this question yesterday and it
stopped
me dead in my tracks - I had no answer for it.
What is the biggest Martian-origin meteorite ever
found, in terms of TKW?
And, if this specimen is Antarctic or otherwise out
of the collector's market, what is the biggest Mars
Dear Michael, and All,
That's Zagami with a whopping TKW of about 18kg. And it's widely available
on the collector's market, thanks to Bob Haag.
The next biggest is the Yamato nakhlite Yamato 000593 and pairings with a
TKW of about 15kg. Not available on the private collector's market, though.

Hi,
Having just read Adam Hupe's firm action for meteorite fraudsters, I was
wondering why no one has commented on it, and does he have some information
he should be sharing with us? I have never heard either of the Magnificent

I think that Adam may be talking of something a bit more serious than
just naming names. When does someone stop naming names? That just leads
to more wars on the list, and the efforts to fix the core of the problem
is detracted from. I think that if the effort goes into creating teeth

Dear list,
I know, off topic, but this really is an interesting article re the life
on Mars debate, and it has nothing to do with Hoagland or photos of
artificial structures on Mars. A press release from the European
