On many mailing lists, posting a "test" message will elicit annoyance and
complaints.
On this networking-related mailing list, we respond with dutiful ACKs. Not
a coincidence. :-)

If there aren't any log files, make sure your log rules log to disk with
the "disk" action. The default log rules use only the "echo" and "memory"
actions.
You can also type "/ log print" in a terminal window, and copy the output.

Speaking of issues with mismatched versions:
As of 6.38, STP/RSTP is more standards-compliant, with the result that if
you are using VLANs with STP/RSTP, you will want to upgrade every device
from pre-6.38 to 6.38 or newer.
Because of this, we're still running 6.37.5, but we're planning to upgrad

At the top of the release notes for RouterOS 6.38:
Important note!!!
To avoid STP/RSTP compatibility issues with older RouterOS versions
upgrade RouterOS on all routers in Layer2 networks with VLAN and
STP/RSTP configurations.

Does winbox show a "Wireless" button at all? If not, confirm the wireless
package is actually enabled.
In some upgrade paths performed under RouterOS control (as opposed to
netinstall), the changes in wireless package names can sometimes leave the

Some of our routers report this same "locally originated" OSPF message
every few minutes. It's nothing close to "blowing up" the logs, but
troubling nonetheless. And yes, it didn't start happening until we
upgraded, probably to 6.36.x. Just another data point.

Traffic from a hotspot client in "bypass" mode still runs through the
hotspot--in particular, it is NATted. If you put another NATting
hotspot controller behind that, the double-NAT will break SSL for
everyone behind the second hotspot interface.
Best to use VLANs to connect the two hotspot inter
