Hi Steve
I agree the last 4 bytes seem to refer to some form of 'density' with
islands and often 'coast line' tiles showing a lower number, at least in GB
and Holland.
regarding 53 , I've never seen this additional copyright block being
referred to in Mapsource itself.
Thanks again
Nick

This sounds very bad indeed. I can only partly agree that the bug
has to be fixed in the garmin software, not the img file. As the
bug not only affects one single garmin device (Remember the same
Hi Bernd,
sounds reasonable if their is no routable way to that adress. Does that mean
that one has to be careful how he selects the target or are some roads never
displayed without a number?

Yes, that worksforme.
I'm
I've been able to include contours address search in the same run as a
gmapsupp and tdb for mapsource.
The only difference perhaps is that I first created separate contour imgs
and then converted them to mp files:
--mapname=31796991
--family-id=6398
--country-name=uk
--index
Would it be (without too much programming effort, nor too much
computation time) possible to extend the current is connected check, to
check for streets/lines connected to one side only?
I would love to have road_class and road_speed lowered by 2-
respectively -1 if this is the case
By the way, what are the requirements for the house to be included to the
index? I mean, what is the minimum set of:
mkgmap:country
mkgmap:region
mkgmap:city
mkgmap:street
mkgmap:housenumber
mkgmap:post_code
mkgmap:phone
other..?
There is nothing about --x- options in the mkgmap help=options, so
Thanks, Steve. This does the job. Getting it to disappear from the map
but stay in the index made me think a bit - I have given it an icon
consisting of one transparent pixel. It still pops up on mouseover in
MapSource, but that is no problem.
I would like to completely remove such pois which
Hi Felix,
yes, it is quite easy to implement that check, I already did it for oneways
only (on my pc only) for the dead-end-check.
The only problem are roads which cross tile boundaries, for those we have to
disable the check because we will not know whether there are other roads on
the other
Hi list,
Someone reported me a conflict between an identical Family ID (OFM Europe
Scandinavia 10132 vs. Radreiskarte).
Is there a wiki list somewhere where we can put our map ID's to avoid those
conflicts?
Maybe Aighes can confirm I have to revise my ID's for my Europe map
(10130-10137?)

of course, add
mkgmap:area2poi=true name!=* {delete tourism; delete amenity; delete cuisine;
delete (all other keys )) as first line in your points file (or maybe after
cites).

I have checked Aighes' map but couldn't find a conflicting ID (his FID=1200)
So I'm not sure what caused this error, maybe it was an older version of his
Scandinavia map?
Nevertheless, it would be handy to have a list of FID's.
Javawa has already done some work, see

I'm able to build some maps with 'x-housenumber' IMHO the source
of this problem, and without it.
Without 'x-housenumbers' all streets are routable again.

I started a wiki page to get an overview of OSM Garmin map id's.
Please help updating this list:

Could you upload a single .img tile that contains an example of the
problem. You could use http://files.mkgmap.org.uk
Thanks
