used splitter version 123, mkgmap 1894 with --ge

messages. Then the mkgmap processes exits without generating a map.

Hi!
When a building is mapped completely and is tagged with amenity =
supermarket or restaurant, etc. it cannot be found via find all POIs.
Perhaps somehow mkgmap should build artificial POIs from these tags.
Would that be possible?

POIs that have no address tagged get "Fix my address" in the Info
screen. That is OK for restaurants, shops, etc. but there are also many
POIs that have no address, e.g. bus stops. So there "Fix my address"
makes not so much sense. What do you think?

This behaviour is well documented, e.g. here:

But can it be changed? Garmin sorts the shops correctly, so if it were

Although the manual says "Note that this doesn't work on many (most?)

The first times I dealed with Openstreetmap maps and mapsource I got
often the error that mapsource told me it had problems and needed to be
reinstalled.
That was due to the fact that I had deleted some folders so mapsource
could not find them anymore. ;-)
I had to use regedit to delete the
selfcomment.

I added a polygon in my typfile (0x1b) for tourism=zoo and added
tourism=zoo [0x1b resolution 18] in my polygons file.
But this zoo gets still no generated POI. What am I doing wrong?

Now I solved my problem with the add-pois-to-areas but I do not
completely understand it.
With this line in the options file, I do not get POIs:
levels = 0:23, 1:22, 2:21, 3:20, 4:19, 5:18, 6:16, 7:12
This line works fine:
levels = 0:24, 1:22, 2:20, 3:18, 4:16, 5:12

I found some examples where an area has more than one attribute. It
seems to me that those get no POI generated if not all attributes match
a polygon and a point. I would prefer if it gets a POI if one attribute
matches.

In the default style, I find in the options:
levels = 0:24, 1:22, 2:20, 3:18, 4:16
But in the files (polygons, lines, points) the following resolutions are
used:
10, 12, 14, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24
I think I have read somewhere that just these from the options may be used?

Is there a typfile editor like the online one, with a graphical interface?
The online editor is really good, but it has the restriction to not
allow subtypes above 1f and I really would like to get rid of all
baseballs that are now shown in my maps and they have 0x2c48.

I recycled now e.g. truckstop (0x2f16) to amenity=taxi.

Search for "FIX MY ADDRESS".
Around it there are function calls like "p.getStreet()" and so on.
I think here could be (new) functions like "p.getWebsite" and so on call

Oh, to draw tiny icons is far more complicated than to draw larger ones.
16x16 pixel icons are e.g. very difficult to draw, if you want to make
them placative and meaningful.

number in my device but when it is mapped in a polygon (e.g.with
building=yes) the POI is rendered but I can see just the word "Punkt" as
additional information.

I am not sure, but do I see it correctly that now POIs that cannot have
an address information do not get it showed, even if there is one supplied?
Or does Garmin prevent to show address info for such POIs?
I ask because I personally like to reuse unused POIs (like Marine POIs)
to give oth
