Hi, I can hear the ring even on locked screen after IOS8 upgrade. But first
the phone has to be unlocked and then double finger double tap will work
for answering/hanging up. VO also works while on a call but all this
applies to 5S. It is strange hat 5c should behave any different.

Symbian phones were good however it's better to have a Bluetooth keyboard
Symbian is not required any more.
