1. I strongly suggest you to install an awesome app called Autospeaker
to negotiate with such calls.
2. Since the default messenger is quite accessible with talkback, you
are not required to go for a third party program.

Install auto speaker and then whenever you take the phone away from your ear it
will turn on speakerphone. Then
click on dial pad u will b able to access the IVR.
Second query use Hangouts for SMS.
