I think that we should all be happy for the mouse that they
got picked up by a major label. The people at up are probably
glad it happened as well. I mean look at what happens for
up if the mouse gets superhuge as the result of epic promotion.

It's the first song on the aptly titled _Night on the Sun_ Japanese
tour CD/EP on Rebel Beat Factory Records. There were supposedly only 500
pressed. You can get it for free from
I'm not sure if this is an exclusive problem for me or everybody.
I've been meaning to mention it. Now I've got a bit of free time.

i admit it: i, too, bought a copy of the evil evil new album at michigan
fest. at the time, i thought nothing about what i was doing, just "oh wow,
this is so rad! why, amongst all of this punk rock stuff, are these kids
selling modest mouse cds? must buy!" -- whatever, it's done, i did
one more thing on michigan fest:
my new friend atom (of atom and his package) played there and i convinced
him to play a mt. goats song, which he kindly did. he played the seed song
and ohhh was it ever grand. i remember that someone on this list was
talking about the show where he played
i would be interested in hearing a slew of mountain goats covers.
the world shines as i cross the macon county line,

this whole argument about the mouse and a major label is
too little too late

What is Beta Carotene released on?
if not, is it a B-Side to Self-Titled?
And like the true indie cred-craving rockers we are, we can say we listened
to them whenhehehe
