I drove all the way to Pullman from Seattle in 97 (?) to see Built to
Spill, Modest Mouse and 764-Hero. Modest Mouse's van broke down and were
not going to make it so BTS went on second. This was just before
"Perfect from now on" came out and they played mostly songs from the
newest one which wa
Most people are way off base when they say a band is selling out. But I
think it would be a fun contest to come up with a list of the most
sell-out bands of all time. My vote would have to go for Metallica. I
mean
they were a great coked out metal band, at the fore front of that genre,

You can pre-order the new RST 7" from Suicide Squeeze Records on their
website. It has a John Coltrane cover and a remix of North to Next Exit.
Pretty good stuff.

Come to the restaurant that I work for (if you are in Seattle), Cafe
Flora. It is located on twenty-ninth and Madison, has an awesome brunch
with VEGAN WAFFLES! Brunch is on the weekends from 9 until 2pm. The
restaurant is great for dinner as well but I work primarily brunch shifts!
Come in and

Modest Mouse is putting out a single on Overcoat records that is going to
precede their album. I read that in the Rocket.
Nicole Johnson is in no way related to Calvin. She goes to UW. Think
about how common the name Johnson is.
What do people know about the MagicMagicians? I saw that they are playing
a benefit show for COCA :(conter on contemporary art where my main squeeze
works!). They are listed as a John Atkins side project but I know nothing
of it.
Also at Milky World, an art gallery in Belltown, is an exhibet us

I just got the Japan tour CD and the singles comp (advance copy) and I get
done with finals on Tuesday. I also have a CD burner. I'm thinking that
I will burn copies for some people in the holiday spirit. Email me back

EVERYBODY knows that the best song to fuck to is Never Going to Dance

To those interested:
Beck's "Golden Feelings", previously only a tape has been pressed onto Cd.
I think they only pressed 1000 copies but some are still available at
parasol.com.
Ugly Cassanova is going to have a 7" out on Western Vinyl as part of a
portrait series where the artist writes two songs from the point of a
person in a portrait. Other notables in the series are Will Oldham and
Songs:Ohia.
Someone inquired awhile back about Three Second Kiss. They have an EP o
I was curious as to every one's favorite record label webpage according to
content and design. It seems you can always find good info on Suicide
Squeeze, Doghouse, Tree, and Temporary Residence Limited but others seem
almost useless. What do the rest of you modest mouse listeners feel?

What does everyone think of Aerial M? I was really excited to see them
with Sam Prekop. Dan Pajo just came on stage and jammed on his guitar for
45 minutes. He was squated down so unless you were in the front row you
couldn't even see him playing. It was a total drag and I had a much

Can anybody tell me about the black heart procession(?). They are playing
with red stars and 764hero and Im thinking about checking it out. Do
people agree that the breakroom gets the best shows in seattle?
Love Always,
andy
Dont come to the northwest for scenster free shows. They only get worse
around here, I would bet worse than any where else. Tons of scenesters
who don't realize they are just directionless groupies. Rhys, you can get
the new Get Up Kids 7" at Ebay.com for a little over $50.
Andy
What does the polar opposites cd single have on it?
andy
It looks like they won't be playing at the showbox on the 23rd for obvious
reasons. Does anyone know how to get a hold of some Sharks Keep Moving
stuff (former State Route 522 members)? Email me privately about this
matter.
thanks

I am a smoker of pot and drinker of alcohol and I am a listener of indie
rock and I like basketball sometimes and I will be a fan of the Seattle
Seahawks again starting next year.

excellent. Does anyone have any more info
The Delusions are playing with Built to spill in seattle.
Since Jeremy Green plays in Red Stars Theory I feel this is relivent to
the list. The Rocket (a seattle music magazine) reported that red stars
theory signed with Touch and Go.
I just recently got a CD burner and am interested in making a mm live
bootleg cd. If anybody is interested or has real
My ideal Modest Mouse show would have Pete Krebs opening up and would be
in seattle at the showbox. Ideally, I would like this concert to be in
exactly one week. I agree that talking about hip hop is good for the
list, I saw Eric and Jeremiah at a Roni Size show. It was a great show
even though
