experience will not be very soon :) Perhaps you have overcome
this using an approach that includes procedures obvious to you but not so
obvious for those of us trying to catch up with your release stream :)
My apologies for off topic whinging in advance and many
FP98 may use a modified suexec in apache to be able to find fp.exe. It could
be that the order in which you are building things is a problem. Try looking
at suexec as required by FP98 and comparing it to the suexec you have built.

This is not very nice and means you must insure that upon a restart or cold
start that the database daemon is up before apache starts.

If anyone knows of any caveats to simply using apxs to rebuild mod_ssl and
replacing the old module with the new would you mind spelling them out here.
I don't recall anyone commenting about this previously, but I wouldn't mind
avoiding any unpleasant surprises :)

I have often used the same TransferLog entry in two different entries without problem. ErrorLog as well. This will have the effect of
combining log messages.

Would someone mind taking a few moments to resumé the state of the art as of
mod_ssl 2.1.7 and apache 1.3.4?
Is EAPI now in place by default?
Can mod_ssl be used in DSO form without touching the apache 1.3.4 build, i.e.
mod_ssl is built only using apxs and the source tree of apache is untouche
My apologies for editorializing. I don't do enough work on either to publicly
post in this kind of debate.

While I don't currently have a production server using ssl in use I build the
mod_ssl version from time to time to track its evolution and ease of install.
It is much better than apache-ssl in this respect.
