oK, I have just successfully built and run my test project as:
MyIndex.aspx -- MyMaster.master -- BaseMaster.master, as nested Master
page pages
under monodevelop 4.2.3/mono3.2.8/Centos6.5
This can proof nested master page works under mono, but cannot solve your
problem.
