I agree with JR. Buy what you like, enjoy what you buy. Its nice to get
something that appreciates in value but never count on it. Collectibles markets
go up and down. If you watch the antiques roadshow, you hear all the
time 10 years ago this would have gone for such and such amount

For your noir buffs, I just got my copy of the new DVD release of
Laura. Now if I can just get the poster. This release is
inexpensive--$13 including shipping. I am going to watch it tonight
before 24. It looks interesting with an alternate opening and deleted
scene as well as 2 commentaries and
Yes - It's great - I just got it this weekend at BestBuy for $5.00 (I had a
discount coupon) but the sale price there is $9.99. It's labeled #01 of FOX
FILM NOIR and they plan on putting a lot of them out too! It's interesting
to note that LAURA was originally going to be part of the Fox Classic
Hope it's better than Fox Movie Channel. They run LAURA frequently with
a print they salvaged from the drive-in. I get that from
DirecTV. Ever wonder why their Fox's movie channel looks cheap?

I got the Laura as well from Best Buy (wish I'd had the coupon). I haven't
looked at the entire disc but I think the restoration is pretty good but not
super. This is the finally-released disc that was postponed last year. Could

sound seemed a little muffled - the restored scene wasn't that great of
quality - probably because it had been cut before release. Yes, I was really
impressed with LEAVE HER TO HEAVEN too - but where are their other

As for Warner Bros. releases on DVD, I did pick up their 6 disk comedy
series the other day which had 2 disk sets of The Philadelphia Story
and Bringing Up Baby along with Libeled Lady, Dinner At Eight, Stage
Door and To Be or Not to Be. I have not had a chance to watch them yet.
