The list was determined by two critics -- Richard Corliss and the
Richard Schickel. The agreed on 25 films and the other 75 were
negotiated -- kind of like negotiation about judicial approvals and the
filibuster in the US Congress.

It's a camel a horse designed by a committee. I got half way through
reading the list and gave up. Ask me my 5 favourite films and I'll tell
you. Ask me in a couple of days time and at least 3 will be different
and so on.

I agree, JR. This list is so impoverished
that browsing through it was actually somewhat painful. I now know one
additional place NOT to go to read a movie review.

I have to agree with David, Ralph, Henry and others... there are huge gaps
in this list, which are filled by some 2nd and even 3rd rate films.
Apparently the authors decided to try and come up with a list that was all
things to all people, and ended up with a mongrel that may be "interesting"

I have very mixed feelings about the rialto. They occasionally show silent films with live accompanment, and getting to see classics on the big screen is fabulous. The restoration is great -- the theater looks awesome.

Aw man - I already have big problems with this list.
What? 1986's "The Fly" listed as one of the top 100 films of ALL TIME?
They're already going to get scores of angry letters for leaving off 1939's
"Gone with the Wind."
But where's 1967's "The Graduate" or 1946's "The Best Years of Our Lives

Your post about possible exhibition of loaned posters was very
interesting. But you neglected to identify in what city the Rialto theater
is located. Nor did you identify the name of the museum you are touting,
the city, and what is CSU.
